Commemoration covers graduation of 60 new professional students

Caxias do Sul City, Brazil, on the 20th of May – Marcopolo In Company Technical School celebrates, tomorrow, on the 28th, 20 years of existence, holding the event of Three Groups Graduation. It will count with the presence of Authorities, Marcopolo Managers and graduates’ relatives. The Director of Administration, Mr. Milton Susin has been chosen as the “Godfather” of the Groups.

Focusing to social inclusion, Marcopolo technical School joins Theories and Techniques to young students rendering a skilling and professional course, the first job program and the opportunity to build a solid carrier in the Company. In those 20 years, the EFPM (Marcopolo Technical School) has already given graduation to 600 students. 

Students number Enlargement

The main change to the new groups in 2010 and 2011, is the enlargement from 60 enrolls to 90 enrolls at Ana Rech plus Planalto Plant School, in Caxias do Sul City, Brazil, then it resulted to an amount of 166 students from all over the City.

Created in 1990, The Technical School, in a partnership with SENAI (National Technical School Net), supplies technical courses to young students at six Schools in Brazil and abroad. There are four schools in Caxias do Sul, one of them is connected to plastic market, in a partnership with UCS (Caxias do Sul and Farroupilha University), another School is in Duque de Caxais City in Rio de Janeiro State, and then the First Abroad Technical School started in 20089in South Africa Marcopolo Plant. EFPM is considered part of Marcopolo Foundation thanks to young students inclusion to society group based on an evaluation of Foundation of Social Assistance of Caxias do Sul (FAS), which has social care relations as well.

According to Mr. Osmar Piola, Human Resources Manager and Director of Foundation, to give opportunity of skilled and technical teaching to young students is a way of contribute to the community social development. It helps adult-teenagers move out of violence and school absent levels. Besides, it can make the students professional dream come true, as they are working in a Large and International Company, explains the Manager.

Students graduated at the Technical School are able to work at different departments of the company initially and mainly in the shops, engineering, quality and logistics. As company offers a career plan value adding to the workers, several ex-students are working at Technical and managing departments at Marcopolo in Brazil and abroad. “We are proud of supporting the growth and development of each in their careers, 100% advantage for both: company and student, say Mr. Piola.

Course takes 1.600 hours, then 2 years and it is part time offering theory and techniques. At the other shift, those students have training at the Plant. EFPM makes students able to technical matters and right start careers regarding to reinforced plastic, vacuum form and automotive assembler.
