Polomex was founded in 1999 in the city of Aguas Calientes in Mexico. Since 2001, Evobus, a division of DaimlerChrysler, acquired 26% of shares. The production line was transfered to the city of Monterrey, to the Mercedes-Benz factory in Mexico. The partnership made possible the production and delivery to the customers of the system called  " bumper to bumper"  or else, with a unified and complete guarantee  once the bus body and the chassis are matters of a joint sale. Currently, the performance in the market shows that assembly lone in para of the bus body and the chassis constitute a successful formula in the region where Polomex plays.
